Technology in Language E-ducation

There’s no going back now I’ve been introduced to so many cool web 2.0 tools. Many thanks to my course tutor Özge Karaoğlu, she is an inspiring web tool junky. I’ll be putting everything I’ve learnt into good use starting with this blog. From now on every spare moment needs to be used wisely learning and collaborating with others interested in the same field. There are so many personal learning networks and thousands of educators willing to help only a tweet away. I’m even a member of another virtual cyber world. Very scary but totally exciting! I would recommend this course at British Side to everyone.

Chocolate sends love

More learning at Mufak Sanatları Akademisi. Chef Erdal Yaman and his assistants were very friendly and helpful. What an enjoyably way to spend a rainy day. We made a chocolate tart, garden mint truffles, white chocolate rum praline and chili and cinnamon truffles. If only your computer had smell-o-vision :-)

İSTEK SCHOOLS ELT

Great Conference at İstek!International İstek Schools ELT Conference
ELT in a Globalized World: Exploring New Opportunities and Meeting the Challenges of Today.

I had a very fulfilling weekend listening and learning about the increasingly complex and rapidly changing world of technology using Web. 2.0 Tools. From blogs, wiki, podcasts, vodcasts, social bookmarking, twitter, MSN, Skype to glogster …these are just some of the examples that were used throughout the workshops. The workshops I attended (special thanks to Nicky Hockly, Shelly Sanchez Terrell and Derya Erice) looked at specific examples of teaching using Web 2.0 ICT in new and interesting ways in and out of the classroom. I explored the various possibilities of using social media networks, such as Twitter and Ninga and realized the importance of building a Personal Learning Network. My eyes have opened to a virtual world full of experts and educators just a Tweet away. This weekend’s keyword for me is COLLABORATING!
